Question 1435: Buttoned up

A "_____ putter" is a specific type of putter that is so-named because to use it, the golfer anchors the end of the shaft against his or her stomach. It has a longer shaft (41 to 44 inches) which is anchored against the golfer's _____ , serving as a fulcrum for making the stroke.

"_____ putters" have been somewhat controversial since they first started showing up on professional tours because with all other golf clubs, the only part of the body touching the club is the golfer's hands. But they are fully "legal" under the rules of golf, although some argue that it should change.

Well the debate has again sprung to life because of recent happenings.

FIB. Why is it making news again?

Broom putter used by Ernie Els to win the British Open. Els feels it is not in the spirit of golf but use the putter till it is made illegal.
