A certain download-tracking firm found that 33.5% of movies downloaded from internet, during a random sampling, were originally uploaded by X. Because of X's reputation for quality, the name X is often faked by a variety of imitators.

Due to its popularity on the internet, the pseudonym X  is falsely assumed by a variety of individuals and groups to mimic the source identity as a disguise for their own uploads. These faked files usually contain useless or potentially malicious data.
