The event X is held annually on the last Wednesday of August.

At around 10am festivities begin with the first event of X. The goal of the first event is to climb a greased pole with a ham on top. Once someone is able to drop the ham off the pole, the start signal for the main event X is given. The signal is given at about 11 when a loud shot rings out, and the chaos begins.

Several trucks throw the equipment needed for the event in abundance at the venue. The equipment is brought in from a different place, where it is cheaper and is made specially for this event. Those taking part in the event are permitted to use goggles and gloves.

After exactly one hour, the second shot is fired, announcing the end. The whole venue is in a bad state with the mess created due to the event and fire trucks hose down the streets and participants use hoses that locals provide to remove the mess from their bodies. Some participants go to the pool nearby to wash.
