Answer: Droste effect/droste. It was named after the brand Droste(in pic 1) and others followed: Knights of the Lambda Calculus, Pink Floyd's UmmaGumma, Memento movie poster, and The Laughing Cow logo.

This is the Droste effect, named after the first picture with the same brand name. It refers to the same picture being shown in successively diminishing proportions within the same picture.

All of them are recurring images...the blanked out space is the same as the original big picture.
