Sorry if this question seems to be too cryptic! Please bare!!
Well everyone knows the above 2 brands and the rivalry that they share. Recently their ad campaigns have also been in news. So, the above pics are from the print ads of the said brands. What's been blanked out in both? However small the blanked-out part might seem to be, if you ask me, they are probably the most important part of the whole pic! In other words the ad can't stand without them! Why so? Put complete funda!!
Answer: The blanked out part is soda, or CDs. It's basically because, it is illegal to advertise the brand for alcoholic drinks, so the companies have to set up a parallel product with the same brand name. The rivalry was recently back in the news because of the whole Mahendra Singh Dhoni - Harbhajan Singh spoof ads aired on Indian television recently.

Blanked part is Soda. The ad wont stand without it as advertising alcohol is not allowed in India. As for the funda, the connect is the recent controversy over McDowel No.1 ad starring Dhoni, which mocks a Royal Stag ad starring Bhajji.
As per as Indian Govt guidelines Alcoholic Beverages cannot be directly shown in Television/ Print or any Media promotions. So the ads use the words "Mega Cricket" and '' HIT CD's along with the brand name to remain as per the Govt guidelines.
SODA/Club Soda... coz daaroooo ads are not allowed..especially on TV
Are the words Mega Cricket? The McDowell's ad showed a Harbhajan look alike getting slapped and Dhoni coming on and saying 'don't make it large..do something else'. Or something to that effect.
soda or cassets and CD's..
Anything crap which allows the product (alcohol) to be advertised by the same name since Indian laws do nt allow permission for adveting alcohic beverages..
Make it large: the recent ad controversy involving Harbhajan and Dhoni who represent rival brands Seagrams and McDowell's
It's your life make it large?
Blank = Soda since alcohol cannot be advertised in India, alcohol manufacturers create brand awareness by advertising other products (e.g. soda or music CDs)
soda ?!
The word whisky. You can't make an advert assuming people would know what product your selling now...can you?
Soda
