William Lorenzo Moss developed the Moss system of classification which classified blood into 4 basic types.This was used In USA until 1935. From 1935 onwards,his method fell out of favour and Karl Landteiner's method(A,B,O) was used. Jan Jansky independently conceived of the A,B,O and AB method in the 1920's and this was prominently used in the USSR.
