X started his career performing stand-up comedy and did a number of national tours. Soon after, he landed a role in the sitcom Full House, which became a huge success through family viewers. He then became the original host of America's Funniest Home Videos until 1997. He was also roasted in 2008 as part of the Comedy Central Roast. His co-star from Full House, John Stamos was the roastmaster. More recently, he has a important role in the sitcom Y although, he has never made an onscreen appearance in the series and has not been credited for this role.
