Question 1301

The company 'X' was initially set up by M H Hasham _____ as a vegetable oil manufacturer in 1945 in Amalner, Maharashtra producing sunflower Vanaspati oil and soaps. At that time, the company was called _______ _______ Vegetable Products Limited possibly based on it's geographical location. The name was abbreviated to 'X' later.

During the 1970s and 1980s, the company shifted its focus and began to look into business opportunities in a completely different field, which was at nascent stages in India at that time. Consequently 'X' went on to become the first company to market the first indigenous homemade range of certain product from India in 1985.

Interestingly it's initial 1945 business venture still reflects in it's branding today!

What am I talking about? FIB (all blanks different).

Answer: WIPRO. It's logo still contains the iconic 'sunflower'.
