Question 1049: What's in a name??

X was named after Thomas Edison. But his parents decided to call him 'Edson' (although many documents still show his name as Edison due to a mistake on the birth certificate). He got the current nickname when he was in school because of his incorrect pronunciation of the name of his favorite player, a local goalkeeper. X later stated that he had no idea what it meant.
